Supporting Patients at Discharge with Dignity and Care
Reacher’s Hub CIC is proud to launch the Ready to Go Closet Initiative which aims to support Manchester University Foundation Trust Charity. This initiative ensures that patients who are discharged from hospital without suitable clothing can return home with dignity, comfort, and warmth.
What Is the Ready to Go Closet?
How It Works.
Reacher’s Hub receives donated clothing from individuals, organisations, and partners.
All clothing is checked to ensure it is clean, appropriate, and brand new.
Hospital teams provide these clothes to patients being discharged home without suitable attire.
What We Accept
We welcome donations of: – Adult clothing (all sizes) – Seasonal essentials (coats, jumpers, footwear) – all brand new
All items should be brand new due to infection control reasons
Why This Matters
No one should leave hospital feeling exposed, cold, or undignified. The Ready to Go Closet Initiative: - Promotes dignity and wellbeing at discharge - Reduces pressure on hospital staff and social services - Strengthens community support for vulnerable patients - Encourages sustainable reuse of clothing
This initiative reflects Reacher’s Hub’s commitment to practical kindness and community-led solutions.
